2009 Audi A5 Sportsback Engine Details And Pictures Revealed

Audi has recently released a set of teaser pictures for its upcoming A5 Sportsback model. Apart from the A5 Spy pictures the car will be matted with a 2.0 TDI engine generates 168BHP with a price of around £27,000.

There is also a 3.0-litre V6 TDI with 237bhp, the 2.7 TDI with 187bhp, and two petrol units, the 208bhp 2.0 TFSI and 261bhp 3.2 V6. All engines are direct injection.

Audi has hinted that a cheaper model, possibly the 141bhp 2.0 TDI, will be joining the range in 2010.

There could even be an RS5 version with an updated version of the last RS4’s 4.2-litre V8, retuned to give more power with fewer emissions.

This model would use a quattro drivetrain with Audi’s double-clutch S Tronic transmission, the first time an Audi RS product has featured twin-clutch technology.

The Audi A5 Sportsback is expected to be officially displayed for the first time either at the Frankfurt motor show this September or at the Audi Centenary Celebration in July. It will go on sale in the UK in October.

2011 BMW M5 Sedan Caught Wild In Europe

BMW is currently testing the 2011 M5 sedan in Europe and it heavily camouflaged and what can be seen are the M-trim including widened fenders, massive cross-drilled brake discs, and quad tailpipes.

BMW M5 will get a twin turbo 4.4L V8 555BHP from its existing 500BHP 5.0L V10 engine. There is a chance that we can expect a 600Hp power from the V8 engine mill, lets see.

As we have previously reported, the 2011 M5 could adopt a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) similar to what is used in Formula One racing. Designed to capture energy that would normally be wasted, the supposed system would deliver additional boost for added performance.

Another green technology that could appear on the M5 is a variable displacement system which would deactivate several of the engine’s cylinders for improved fuel efficiency.

Rolls Royce To Launch Ghost In India By Year End

As we already reported earlier, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced that it is planning to launch the recently launched “Ghost” model in the Indian market by the end of this year. The Company came to this decision after Tata Motors launched Jaguar and Land Rover models in India. The car will also be showcased at the company’s showrooms in India, in November and December.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost will be launched globally at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, 2009, and will come to India in November or December. The new model, says the company, is a ‘Rolls you can drive everyday’. It will be priced between $250,000 and $270,000 (Rs 1.2-1.3 Crore) before taxes.

At present, India has around 40 Rolls-Royce cars, 14 of them having been bought last year. The company is counting on the Ghost to help it treble this number by next year. The Indian market for Rolls cars is one-eighth the size of the Chinese market and one-third the size of the Japanese market. Rolls-Royce India, however, has high hopes from the country. The company considers each of India’s $40 million net worth individuals (1,000 of them) as potential customers.
