Audi And Volkwagen Slash Prices On Their Cars
Audi and Volkswagen the German car makers today cut the prices of their products by up to Rs.2.79 Lakhs and Rs.80859 respectively due to CENVAT rate cut by Government of India.
Audi has reduced the prices of the Luxury sedans A8, A6 and A4 by Rs.2.70 Lakhs, Rs.1.51 Lakhs and Rs.1.21 Lakhs while their SUV Q7 would be cheaper by Rs.1.87 Lakhs, Audi India said in a statement.
Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers said “We welcome this decision by the government of India. Audi believes in providing value to the customers and hence the entire four percent reductions will be passed on to our customers.”
Volkswagen has cut the price of its sedan Jetta between Rs.46086 and Rs.57814. The Luxury sedan Passat would now be cheaper by Rs.75674 to Rs.80859 across India, it added.
Volkswagen Group India President and Managing Director Joerg Mueller said “We are happy to pass on the full benefit of the duty reduction to our valued Indian customers. Going forward, it will be our endeavour to support government initiatives aimed at arresting the economic downturn.”
