In India, High-end segments seem to be perfect in the Indian market as the luxury carmaker Audi reporting a considerable increase in their monthly sales for the second consecutive months.

Audi, the German manufacturer, announced a YoY increase of about 95 percent selling, 113 units in the month of February against 58 cars in the same month last fiscal year.

The automaker, which is currently offering six models in the Indian market, has registered similar sales growth in January, selling 109 units against 56 sold in January 2008.

To continue with the growth momentum, the company indicated it would launch new models this year and expanding its sales network to new urban markets. Currently, Audi has a dealership network spanning Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata.

“Our steady growth in India is reflected once again in our sales performance last month that has almost doubled when compared to February 2008. To gain additional market share we are looking forward to introducing new models and expanding our dealerships network to mini-metro cities this year,” Benoit Tiers, managing director of Audi India said in a statement.

Prices of Audi models in India range from Rs.3 million (Rs.30 Lakh) to Rs.15 million (Rs.1.5 Crore).
