Porsche To Launch Panamera In India By October 2009

As we already said, Porsche India, German luxury carmaker today announced that it will launch its sports car Panamera in India by October 2009. The Porsche Panamera in India will be priced at Rs 1.42 Crores and Rs 2.02 Crores.
Porsche Panamera rolls out a first four door sports car from Porsche and it will be revealed in the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show 2009, Said by Precision Cars India - Importer of Porsche Cars in India.
“Our dealers have already enjoyed considerable interest in the car and have received forward orders prior to the launch. We are working on a simultaneous launch of the car in India as well and are hopeful of welcoming the car in India by late September-early October 2009,” Precision Cars India Managing Director Rod Wallace said.
Porsche Panamera would be available for Indian customers with a 4.8 litre V8 direct fuel injection engine, he added.
The new sports car would be priced between Rs 1.42 Crore and Rs 2.02 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi) and is inclusive of VAT and import duty, the release added.
The dynamic Panamera 4S features a 4.8-litre V8 developing 400 bhp (294 kW) maximum output, with engine power conveyed to all four wheels via Porsche’s seven-speed PDK Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. In this case acceleration to 100km/h comes in 5.0 seconds, top speed is 282km/h. Ranking right at the top, the Panamera Turbo features a 4.8-litre V8 biturbo developing maximum output of 500bhp with power transmitted again by Porsche’s seven-gear Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK).
