Bajaj Auto will soon launch the most fuel efficient car in the world.
According to Rajiv Bajaj, managing director of two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto Ltd, the company will launch a small car by 2011. He also revealed that the company has targeted fuel economy in excess of 30km per litre and is also confident of achieving emission level of “way below” 100g per km of carbon dioxide.
Bajaj said the car will hit the roads in 2011, irrespective of any “constraints” on the part of Renault SA or Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. It is to be mentioned here that the two automakers Bajaj Auto and Renault SA or Nissan Motor Co. Ltd are collaborating to produce the small car.
Popular across the country for their bikes, Bajaj Auto is coming up with a new version of its flagship model Pulsar this month.
The company is also planning to launch another model to fight rival and market leader Hero Honda Motors Ltd.
