Audi To Expand More Dealerships In India

Audi LogoAs we already said, Audi India is planning to expand their dealer network in the country as it doing well despite the economic slowdown making their products further boost and make availability in the Indian market.

Audi India MD Benoit Tiers said in a statement: “Currently we have 11 dealerships in major cities. We will be soon appointing new dealers in Lucknow, Jaipur, Coimbatore and Nagpur”.

Audi is already working with Jubilant Motors (Bangalore Based) for expanding their dealerships in Southern India. Jubilant Motors already has a showroom in Bangalore and its Chennai showroom will be operational by early 2010.

“We have invested close to Rs 12 crore for the Chennai dealership,” added K Subramanian CEO Jubilant Motors.

Audi said that “they are aiming to grab 30% of Indian luxury car market in the coming 2 years. Expanding their network is one of the most important steps in that front”.

It is geared up to increase its dealership networks in India with an intention to grab at least 30 percent market share in India by the year 2011. Its current market share is 20 percent in India in the luxury car segment. Terming their growth in the country as “sustainable”, Tiers said, “In the last five months alone we have grown by 57 per cent.”
