As we reported earlier, After the sucessful launch of the rivals Honda Jazz and Grande Punto, Hyundai India will launch the new i20 diesel car on 7th of July. Our friends at Motorbeam.com managed to take a deep dive by analyzing the much awaited car today in India.

Hyundai i20 Diesel is very similar to the petrol variant until you see the CRDi badge placed at the rear. The version that you see here in the pictures is Asta. The Hyundai i20 diesel gets 6 airbags and sunroof as optional (Asta (O)).

The new thing you’ll notice in the i20 diesel unlike the petrol it doesn’t have a reverse gear next to the 5th gear but you have to push a button and move the knob slightly near the 1st gear to get into the reverse mode.

Hyundai i20 diesel is matted with a 1.4L 16V CRDi units generates 90PS of power a 4000 rpm and 22.4kgm of torque at just 1750rpm. Hyundai has also added the essential feature like ABS and rear wiper washer and didn’t take out from the list due to cost consciousness.

Hyundai i20 diesel might be priced around Rs 7.5L OTR, Mumbai for the top end Asta (O).
