2011 Hyundai Sonata Engine Details Revealed For Europe

2011 Hyundai Sonata will be revealed its official debut in Korea this September and the sales part is expected to be commenced by the end of the year. By February 2010, it sales might get to expand to North America and few months later to Europe and other parts of the world.

2011 Hyundai Sonata will be renamed as i40 and will be retailed in Europe. It will available as a sporty wagon, while later; the sporty wagon will be joined by a four-door sedan.

Hyundai blog claims that their sources from Hyundai say that Europe can choose from a wide selection of diesel and gasoline powered four-cylinder engines with many of them implemented to the all-new mid-size Hyundai for the first time.

2011 Hyundai i40 will be matted with a range of 1.6L diesel and gasoline powered engines. These engine will be feature Hyundai’s latest gasoline direct injection (GDI) technology, which will directly have an impact to get more power equivalent to the existing 2.0L engine.

Next-Gen Sonata will be equipped with a 1.6L diesel will be available in two variants, as a low horsepower output unit producing 115 horsepower and a high horsepower output unit with 136 hp.

Next-Gen Sonata will also get a 2.0L R-diesel engine, which will generate 184HP and a 2.2L R-diesel engine might generate 200HP.

2011 i40 will also get other new gasoline powered engine including a 1.6L four-cylinder engine under its hood. The engine will get a gasoline direct injection technology will produce around 140HP and will achieve about 5% better fuel efficiency than the current 2.0L engine.

2011 Hyundai i40 which is yet to be launched in Europe will also get a engine line-up include a 2.0L four-cylinder with 172 hp and a 200 hp 2.4L Theta GDI engine reserved only for top variants of i40.
