Toyata To Launch Sedan Based On Small Car Platform

Toyota is currently bringing a new small car in India by next year and it will launch a novel compact platform. The company is creating the whole novel platform from the start.
The new Novel platform will also exercise it to create a sedan and that could be the compact cars as well.
A senior official from the company said that Toyota is releasing a compact car by the 2010 end. Adding, it will be from its new production facility near to its current plant in Bangalore.
The company can produce more than just the small car from that novel platform. Apart from other choices the company will bring out a sedan based on that platform , said Sandeep Singh , deputy managing director (marketing) , Toyota Kirloskar Motors.
Specialist said that compared to its existing model , Toyota will be proficient to place the new sedan at an striking price , the Corolla Altis (priced at Rs 9.65 lakh , ex-showroom Mumbai , for base variant). Also currently, the plan on moving with the engine producing facility is on hold.
At is new facility the company has a put in capacity of about 100 , 000 units and Toyota has invested Rs 3000 Crore for that plant. Adding, without any decrease in the capital expenses the company recently has trimmed down its targeted capacity to 70000 units as a result of the fall in the auto sector.
Excluding the Indian projects all other worldwide new projects were iced up due to the slow down. The company is anticipating great potential from India and the Indian market is showing symbols of upturn, said Hiroshi Nakagawa, managing director of TKM.
In India the four models - Innova, Corolla Altis, Camry and Prado are traded by the company.
Moreover, Toyota is increasing its production in monthly manner from about 4000 to 5500 units. Also for the year 2009 it has planned for an objective of selling at least 50000 units. Adding, the company traded 51800 units in the previous year.
Further from the company the most costly car is Land Cruiser and it is released in two versions. The price of the vehicle is Rs 81.64 lakh and Rs 83.10 lakh. In a completely built unit (CBU) the car will be entering into India and in metros at the starting stage it will trading in only chosen channel.
