Volvo Cut Prices By Up To 8.5 percent On Its XC90 Model

Volvo Car India has announced to open two new dealerships and price revision for its XC90 model in India after the prices have been revised following the lowering of specific excise duty by the Government on large cars of engine capacity of 2000cc and above from Rs 20,000 to Rs 15,000 announced in the Union Budget 2009 – 10.
Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, “The expansion of our dealer network signals the importance of the Indian market to Volvo Cars. We believe that India holds tremendous potential for our brand and want to make sure that we fully capitalize on the opportunities available while at the same time providing the best possible services for our customers at the best value at the most competitive prices. The Volvo XC90, now a seven seater with third row AC has been an ongoing success story ever since it was introduced. It includes all the classic SUV virtues combined with a luxurious passenger-car comfort and drive,” Voijs further added.
The dealerships will be registered under the name Taurus Motors Pvt. Ltd. and Liv Cars Pvt. Ltd. in Pune and Chennai respectively and will open its doors to the customers from July, 2009.
In lieu with current economic scenario and to provide luxury at right price, the prices for the flagship model Volvo XC90 SUV has been reduced by 7-8.5 per cent with effect from 09 July, 2009. The Volvo XC90 D5 diesel version will now be priced at Rs 42.50 lakhs against earlier price of Rs 46.50 lakhs; 3.2 Petrol version for Rs 43.50 lakhs against Rs 47.50 lakhs and V8 Petrol for Rs 49.50 lakhs against Rs 53.50 lakhs (ex showroom Delhi).
The Volvo XC90 comes in three variants - D5 Diesel, 3.2L and 4.4L V-8 Petrol. All variants are offered in an all-wheel-drive (AWD) version and a 7-seater configuration with third row AC. The XC90 comes with class leading safety features such as – Dynamic Stability Traction Control; Roll-Over Protection System; Side-Impact Protection System; Roll Stability Control. It also comes with a host of features and accessories such as – ECC; Integrated GSM phone; Satellite Navigation System; Premium sound; Rear seat entertainment; Rear Park Assist.
