Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, today further strengthened its leadership in the deluxe segment by unveiling the all-new “Splendor NXG”. With a new engine and pioneering features, this new bike carries forward the largest-selling two-wheeler brand ‘Splendor’ to the next generation.

Splendor NXG combines stylish looks with a high performance engine. The new Splendor NXG has been conceptualized to offer a whole new riding experience, and represents the trust Hero Honda has built up over generations for its legendary fuel economy and low maintenance.

Unveiling the Splendor NXG here today, Mr. Brijmohan Lall, Chairman, HHML, said “Splendor is the symbol of trust and reliability in the Indian two-wheeler industry. Splendor NXG carries forward this legacy, keeping in mind the changing customer needs and preferences. I am sure the Splendor equity in the two-wheeler market is going to get stronger with this new bike.”

It not only elevates the largest-selling Splendor brand on to the next generation, but also offers a unique package of styling and irresistible features to our customers.”

Splendor was launched in 1994, and has gone on to become the largest-selling two-wheeler brand in the world. HHML last year created yet another record by selling over 1.09 million Splendor in just one year (financial year 2006-07), at an amazing average of one unit every 30 seconds. The Splendor family, including the Super Splendor (125cc), has already sold a cumulative 8.5 million units.

Splendor NXG is available in a range of five attractive colors and seven stripe combinations including black (three stripe color variations), candy blazing red, force silver, vibrant blue and classy maroon. It is also available in two variants - spoke and cast, priced respectively at Rs. 40,990/- and Rs. 41,990/- ex showroom Delhi

Splendor NXG will be immediately available for test drives and bookings through the company’s wide network of dealers spread across the length and breadth of the country. It would be available commercially by the end of this month.

With the launch of Splendor NXG, Hero Honda is poised to further consolidate its 50% market share in the motorcycle segment. This will further build on the eight models that Hero Honda successfully launched last fiscal (2006-07).
