Mercedes Benz is currently aiming to take back its no 1 position in India after it lost with BMW in the premium luxury car segment.
BMW is currently dominating that segment in the Indian market.
Mercedes Benz has stated that they are aiming to generate momentum in the coming months with the aim of taking back their number 1 status in India.
The company said: “Last year we led India’s luxury car segment with a 46 percent market share. This year Mercedes is somewhat behind BMW, but we are hopeful of gaining momentum in the coming days.”
Mercedes sold 3,625 cars in India last year. They are unlikely to touch that number this time around. They face serious competition from the rival players in this market including Jaguar, Audi and BMW. The company has just launched their new Mercedes E-Class in India.
