Hot Nano From Dilip Chhabria To Cost Rs 80000
Dilip Chhabria is back on the news after he wanted to re-design the Nano and called it as the “Hot Nano”.
Chhabria will design exteriors of 200 Nano vehicles once people get them from the showroom and want a new look. His company — DC Design Private Limited — has tied up with Carnation Auto India Limited, a company founded by former managing director of Maruti Suzuki (India) Limited Jagdish Khattar for the project.
“We call it Hot Nano,” Chhabria told during a visit to Ahmedabad. “We will finalise a brand name for the redesigned vehicle,” he said.
The first vehicle will hit the market in December. “We have a wait list as a lot of people want their Nano’s redesigned,” said Chhabria, refusing to divulge more details about the design changes. Customers will have to shell out an additional Rs 80,000.
“We have not planned many changes in the interiors,” said Chhabria, who has designed over 2,000 cars, including Limousines and sports cars in the past 16 years.
The man is now looking at scaling up operations. “Hence, the tie-up with Carnation Auto,” said the ace designer, whose clientele include Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Geet Sethi to name just a few.
What next? Chhabria is planning to foray into healthcare by way of designing ambulances. “Around 100 ambulances would be designed to enhance comfort levels of patients. Apollo group has already shown interest in buying a few,” he said.

It was dissapointing that Dilip Chabbaria didn't unveil the 1-cr Nano at the delhi auto expo. However, it wasn't entirely disappointing. He did launch Imperator, a super sports utility vehicle made for DYPDC, an automotive design school he is starting. Here's the link. It has pictures of the SSUV
