Volkswagen Aims 8 - 10 Percent Market Share In The Next 4 to 6 Years

Volkswagen AG is aiming to get 8-10 percent of the country’s market share in the next 4-6 years from now.
Volkswagen launched production of the Indian version of Polo Hatchback in its Chakan plant and will launch a small car than the Polo in the Indian market.
“We know that we need a car below the level of the Polo,” said Jochem Heizmann, a member of the board of Volkswagen.
“We are working towards this but no decision has been made yet,” he added.
Volkswagen recently took a stake in Suzuki Motors Corp recently to make its brighter step in India and will jointly work and launch a new small car that would cost between $4300 and $5400 for the Indian market.
Volkswagen will buy one-fifth of stake in Suzuki Motor for $2.5 billion, getting the sources for developing small cars in India as Volkswagen seeks to become the No.1 automaker.
Volkswagen might bring the UP model in India priced at around $8000.
Volkswagen Polo is expected to start selling in the month of March and the company has not revealed any details about the price.
Volkswagen is currently expanding and will have a dealer network around India about 200 showrooms for the Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi brand over the next 2-3 years.
