Fiat India will increase the prices of its existing two cars including Linea and Grande Punto by 2 to 2.5% effective from January 1st due to increasing input costs.
The company claimed that prices would go up by about Rs 15 on an average and upto Rs 25000 for some of the versions. Fiat Palio Stile will remain unchanged.
“Input material costs have gone up substantially and without wanting to burden our consumers too much, the cars will now be available with a price increase of 2-2.5 per cent. The Linea and Grande Punto continue to be two of the most attractive propositions in their respective segments,” Fiat, CEO and President, Rajeev Kapoor, said.
The company has sold more than 12,000 units of Linea since its launch in January this year and more than 9,000 units of Grande Punto since its launch in June, the company said.
