Maruti Suzuki aiming to launch a refreshed Alto during the month of April 2010 and will replace the popular M800 to low cost Alto by midyear of 2010.
Why M800?
Maruti 800 caters the BSIII emission norms as per the government rules all the car companies has to shift all their cars to support the stringent BSIV emission norms from April 2010.
Maruti 800 will not get an upgrade but it will still sell on the non-metro cities. Maruti thinks the cost of the M800 will shoot up and come very close to the Alto price range which is not worth for the company.
Maruti has projected that their sales will increase by 18-20% this fiscal.
