Nissan Motors India has finalised to hike prices of small car Micra and the petrol version of Sunny sedan by up to 2 per cent in January due to currency movements and input costs. The company has to protect its margins, to reflect that it will increase from 0.5 to 2 per cent from January 1st.

“The company is suffering from the falling rupee and rising yen. The input costs for the company are also rising.

Nissan sunny diesel will not witness a hike as it just launched a couple of weeks back and Micra hatch will witness price increase in both petrol and diesel variants.

Apart from Nissan Motors India, other auto manufacturers including Hyundai Motors, Ford, General Motors, Toyota Kirloskar and Mahindra will increase price by up to 3 per cent from January 1.
