Nissan recently launched their Sunny sedan for India. The company is now gearing up to export the sunny sedan. We have received reports that Nissan will looking to export the sunny sedan from the month of March 2012. If we jog our memory we remember that Nissan had made its entry into India through its completely-built units SUV X-Trail and Teana. In 2005 the company got into a deal with France-automaker Renault to set up a manufacturing unit.
The manufacturing unit is said to bring forth investment of Rs 4,500 crore spread over a period of seven years. The manufacturing plant at Oragadam currently produces Micra and Sunny. The plant is capable of producing two lakh units. Nissan had kick-started their export program by exporting its first hatchback Micra . The Sunny sedan exports will start in march. The company will target the the Middle East market. The Nissan Sunny sedan diesel has been receiving good response. The company confirms that have received 4,000 bookings so far and 25,000 units of Micra has been sold. So in the coming months the company will also increase the production capacity from 2 lakh to 4 lakh per annum. However from the investment front the company has announced that an investment Rs 2,800 Crore has been done till date at the Chennai plant and this investment is sufficient for the plant expansion.
