Hyundai Sonata have gone up on the Indian site, as well as a few select media publications will be driving the new Hyundai Sonata from Chennai to Pondicherry in the coming week. So overall what can one expect from the new Hyundai Sonata. We take a quick look at the Sonata’s new offering.

The Sonata will come equipped with a 2.4 litre direct injection GDI petrol engine. The engine will be mated to a manual or automatic 6-speed transmission. Now the obvious question for the petrol heads is the power figures. The 2.4 litre direct injection GDI petrol engine is capable of churning out 200 BHP @ 6300 rpm and a peak torque of 250Nm @ 4250 rpm. Whats on your mind now the diesel variant? We thought about it as well; however Hyundai will not provide a diesel variant for the new Hyundai Sonata. From the sales front we might have witnessed a huge sales volumes if a diesel variant was provided. The question here to ask is the usage of the car in terms of kilometers annually. Remember a diesel variant is more costly that a petrol variant due to the technology involved in constructing the diesel variant. So at times the price difference between the fuels is not felt too much if your annual usage in terms of kilometers is less. As you would end up shelling less amount on fuel when compared to the extra cost for acquiring a diesel variant.

So how will the new Hyundai Sonata stand up against its competitors. For sure the car is a stunning looking car and from the features end Hyundai has packed in a punch as well. So the battle comes down to the pricing.
