Tata Motors has already started testing the Nano Diesel in India and is looking to ramp up the production of its small car Nano. Tata Nano Diesel engine will be the world’s smallest turbocharger using a CRDI engine and the company is targeting a mileage figure of 40 KMPL. Tata Motors is tweaking the front and rear numbers and possible mounted the intercooler or radiator at the front. Whatever the case is, Maruti Suzuki is listening to this.
Tata Nano Diesel will have twin-cylinder 700-800cc DICOR engine and the said engine will be used first in Tata Ace. The company is also expanding its network base from 130 to 300 by end of next year.
It is believed that the Nano Diesel will see the production line start by end of 2012 and will cost 30% more than the petrol variant.
Tata Nano CNG
Tata Motors is also looking to launch a Nano CNG variant by the end of this fiscal. Tata Nano CNG variant will also be launched in Tier II and Tier III cities as they have witnessed demand.
