Upgraded Mahindra Thar with factory fitted AC launched in Mumbai

Mahindra has launched an upgraded variant of its Thar off-roader in India priced at Rs 6.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The upgraded Thar is now called by Mahindra as the “New Cool Thar”. The call is now equipped with a factory-fitting air-conditioning system. Upgraded Mahindra Thar is available in both BSIV 2.5-litre CRDe engine that generates 105-BHP of power and BSIII DI engine. The Thar equipped with a chassis based on a mix of the Bolero and the Scorpio.

On other side, Mahindra has also showcased a customised version of the Thar called the Thar Expedition. It is offered with custom-made front bullbar integrated with an electric winch, rock sliders, snorkel, expedition carrier and roll cage among other features to boost off-road capabilities.

Vivek Nayer, senior VP, marketing, M&M said, “We are always responsive towards evolving customers’ needs and the launch of the New Cool Thar (AC) is a step towards giving our customers utmost comfort while they navigate through challenging terrain.”

Mahindra has also unveiled its Adventure calendar for the upcoming season which starts from June 2012. Mahindra Adventure will start a series for the rest of the year categories as Great Escapes, Challenges and Multi-day Escapes.
