Maruti Suzuki Ertiga the newbie from Maruti Suzuki stable has got a record breaking 32,000 bookings, since its launch last month. Maruti Suzuki is now struggling to meet the market demands since current production levels are very low when compared to the demands, this has formed a huge waiting queue some diesel variants shall be available in six months of time. This is due to which Maruti Suzuki can only roll out 6,000 vehicles a month which is lot less than the demand. With the increase in petrol prices in the recent days, people who transit from a petrol car to a diesel car has become even more, when BYF team spoke to Maruti Suzuki sales personnel.
The reason for this huge demand is the price of the vehicle, the seven seater is a lot less when compared to its arch rivals, and the Ertiga offers the same levels of personal satisfaction when compared to main stream players the Innova and the Xylo. Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer (Sales & Marketing) says “We have actually five manufacturing units in Gurgaon and Manesar now, most of these units are flexible in manufacturing so we can move capacity from one to another and Right now our team is trying to increase the capacity of Ertiga and use the flexible manufacturing operation to give a net increase.”
With Maruti Suzuki rivals bringing in their SUV’s by this diwali, its sure that Maruti Suzuki will clear its waiting queue a lot quicker.
