Tata has ruled the commercial vehicle market for so long and has the entire fleet of commercial vehicles name under its belt. Tata trucks has been famous in all the segments and sizes including the big 42 tones to the 4-9 tonnes and even the mini pickup trucks. Tata Y1 series truck was recently spotted where the company was testing the chassis of Ultra range of trucks for its internal purpose. The cab which is used on the truck is a dummy one. The chassis will feature new age engine found on Ultra trucks with capacity ranging from 7-10 tons.

The brand new light capacity trucks will take Tata into the future. Even the legendary Tata 407 and 709 EX will be replaced by these modern machines. It has already been close to 10 years since Tata Motors introduced the Tata EX series of the LCV (light commercial vehicles, to catch hold of the LCV market in India. As we all know that the Tata 407 is a legendary beast of this segment it has everything to impress anybody. The front of the truck has been kept under the wraps but the interiors have been tweaked and have spacious looking interiors with all the comfort inside the cabin. The steering has been given a new looks with the TATA logo placed at the centre of it. The new truck might have Ac in it. It has Ac vents in the interiors.
The Tata Y1 Series truck will come with huge improvement in handling and stability that is expected to reduce the driver fatigue and also accidents. Other than these improvements there are also improvements in the engine and gearbox and it also might get a common rail engine and this might help in increasing torque output and fuel economy while cutting down the emission. The same chasis can also be used to build buses specialized application vehicles.
