The senior vice-president, sales and marketing Honda Cars India, Jnaneswar Sen has finally confirmed the fact that the brand new 2013 Honda CR-V will be revealed in the Indian market in the month of February 2013, adding the fact that it will be obtainable only in its petrol version. The concept of next-gen 2013 Honda CR-V was unveiled back in 2011 at the Orange County International Auto Show, California. Later, the car made its physical appearance at the L.A Auto Show in 2011.
As a whole the new 2013 Honda CR-V is bigger, better and meaner. It has great design, a lot of space, new interior and advanced mechanical features. Following the failure of new Honda Civic, the all new Honda CR-V is a refreshed launch of practical yet appealing features to draw consumer attention.
It has been quite some time now that the Honda CR-V has been spotted testing in the northern parts of India. According to reports the car was expected to launch early this year, but there was a lack of confirmation from the company’s end. The vice president, Mr. Sen has also confirmed about the CR-V’s exclusive petrol avatar. A 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with 155PS of power and 200Nm of torque is expected, along with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
As far as diesel cars are concerned, Honda India had already announced previously that its first diesel model for India will be the Honda Amaze. After Mr Sen’s announcement on the new CR-V, it can be safely said that its diesel avatar is not on the company’s cards. For the pocket pinch, Honda India has revised its pricing for existing models to balance the lack of its diesel options in India. Thus, the auto-market may very well expect to have a very down to earth price tag for the brand new 2013 Honda CR-V, in order to strengthen its power to fight against the ruling diesel giants in the existing Indian automobile market.
