It was famous even before launch; it is among the top 10 bestselling car, of 2012. Yes, it is Tata Nano we are talking about. With significant sales in the month of august and later in 2012, with a growth of 18 percent as compared to last year tata Nano acquired 9th place in popularity. Initially it faced very slow sales, unexpected to the company, but later it slower the sales of Maruti Suzuki Alto which was crowned as the best seller in India.
Initially impair happened due to its cheap and unsafe image. But in few months Nano become the favorite for solo office goers to use it on the metro city roads, people soon realized the practicality, space, fuel efficiency plus value of money. This all brought it in the lime light to the buyers who were looking for fuel efficient petrol hatchback. It also becomes very famous among the young college or office going women with 40% owners below 35 because of its size and price which is a little more than any two wheeler.
To bring more increase in the sales of Nano, tata has already started working on the 800cc 3-cylinder petrol as well as diesel engine which is likely to be launched within a year. With their diesel launch, Nano will become the cheapest diesel passenger car available in the market. Nano definitely has outstanding potential but only will prove so if the company will play safe this time with promotions. So hopefully the changes company has made to improve the image of the car will work to an extent.
Tata Nano availability will be offered in many colors makes it trendy- colors like yellow, green, red, blue, white, orange carries off the look of car very well. Tata Nano has shown the world the capabilities Indian automobile manufacturers have. Nano is also crowned amongst the smallest cars of the world. It won’t be much to call Tata Nano an Indian common man’s car.
