BMW has launched its new X1 2013 for the Indian auto market at a launching ceremony in New Delhi today. BMW India, the renowned German luxury vehicle maker, had announced earlier that its refreshed X1 would be launched on Valentine’s day, for the car lovers. As far as the Indian car aficionados are concerned, they have eagerly awaiting eyeing for the launch of this gorgeous looking compact SUV, which has received very warm response in the Indian market and has also been one of the major volume puller for the German auto giant. As today it sees a glittering opening ceremony with its new looks and enhanced specifications, its maker is definitely hoping that it will draw even more attention that its predecessor in the country.
The new BMW X1 2013 has come packed with an array of new changes that include cosmetic enhancements in its exterior as well as interior and also up-gradation of the under the hood specifications. The X1 2013 was first introduced at the New York Auto Show 2012 after which, it made its appearance in the European auto markets. This premium compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was also recently introduced to the Malaysian auto market.
The new BMW X1 2013 sports a new look on the outside that was brought about with the inclusion of a new and enhanced bumper as well as a new front grille which made its debut on the new 3-Series. Apart from these the X1 also comes with revised headlamp console and OVRMs.
The X1 2013 also gets a new and superior interior that features a reworked centre console and new attractive colour tones. The ambiance of the X1 is enhanced with a chrome treatment for various bits across its cabin and also offers a range of revised upholstery options. The new interior of the premium car also sports a nice looking steering wheel as well as high gloss air vents.
BMW made sure that the X1’s revamped avatar does not possess beauty that’s only skin deep but is also well performing on the Indian roads. Thus, under its hood the new X1 also gets a new 8-speed automatic gearbox to pump up its on-road performance. In India, the 2013 X1 will continue to be powered by the 1.8-litre petrol which produces 150bhp, 200Nm of torque as well as the 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine that produces 177bhp, while its power rating is expected to perk up to 380Nm, thanks to its new improvements. The X1 facelift will have its power that will be transmitted to the wheels via the new ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. Moreover, as this gets combined with the start/stop system, it is supposed to give a significantly improve fuel efficiency.
BMW is also expected to offer a four-wheel drive version of the X1, in order to lock horns with the Audi Q3 Quattro. The all new BMW X1 2013 comes with the base price tag of Rs. 25 lakhs that goes up to Rs. 31 lakhs for its top-end model. Hopefully this new launch will get to experience a fresh sales hike for the German giant.
