The German auto giant Volkswagen has launched a new variant of its passenger vehicle Polo on 17th February 2013. The new variant of Volkswagen Polo called the Polo Sport Racer or SR has been attractively priced at Rs 6.27 lakhs, price ex-showroom New Delhi. This new variant of VW Polo is aimed at the new and sporty generation who likes to update their cars to match their lifestyle.
Under its hood, the all new Volkswagen Polo SR is run by a 1.2 litre 3 cylinder petrol engine with ‘Aero Sport’ package that is supposed to provide a better on road performance. The 1.2 litre petrol motor has the capacity to churn out a power of 75 bhp at 5400 RPM and a torque of 110 Nm at 3750 RPM. The new Polo SR also sports several new and refreshed features for its enhanced exterior looks that include new front under skirting, side under skirting, chrome exhaust with rear under skirting, a new rear roof spoiler as well as 15 inch diametre alloy wheels.
At the time of the unveiling of the new Volkswagen Polo SR, the Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Arvind Saxena spoke about the new launch explaining that the Polo is a very vital carline in the Indian car portfolio and thus, Volkswagen wants to endeavor in keeping the car continuously updated in order to ensure that it is relevant and exciting for its customers and their interest in car continues to grow.
Adding to his comment the Managing Director also said that the new Polo SR will also have advanced features such as music system with USB connectivity, climatronic AC, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. For added safety measures the new variant of Polo also comes braced with the advantage of dual air bags, ABS, multifunction display, among many others.
Apart from these, the car also has other new features such as adjustable ORVMs, multi-information display, adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver seat, rear wiper and rear parking sensors and refreshed fog lamps.
