The second round of Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2013 and JK Tyre Racing Challenge 2013 is soon to be hosted at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The round two starting on 10th August awaits a full-throttle competition and thrill for the Polo race drivers.
The front runner of the round one, a South Africa based race driver – Jeffrey Kruger is expected to resume his lead in the second round as well. He took up the second position in the first race of the round 1, while winning the second race of the same. Rahil Noorani of Mumbai, India is also expected to give a head-on close competition to Jeffrey. Rahil won the Race one while holding on to the third position in the race 2 of round 1.
However, the race 1 was interrupted with another four laps remaining when the officials brought out the red flags. The race 2 followed a reverse grid for a start had Rahil at the 8th position while Jeffrey at the 7th. Jeffrey took an early lead and made it through the win with Rahil and Karthik Tharani behind him in the second and third positions respectively.
The round 2 will start where the round one ended with 14 race drivers fighting hard to improve their respective lap time competing with each other. The auto racing track of Kari Motor Speedway will be offering further lessons for the driver with its highly technical racing circuit. The qualifying session is being conducted on Saturday which is expected to be a sunny and dry day as per the weather forecasts.
However, the final day of the race, that is Sunday can see some showers during the day. Nevertheless, the race is surely going to be an adventure ride with such weather for both the drivers and the spectators.
In addition to the Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2013 races, VW is also organizing a special race of the track-prepped Volkswagen Vento race cars. The drivers for this race were selected by a contest conducted by the Overdrive Magazine while VW provided the winners with an opportunity to have a first-hand experience of racing. The specially made cars foe this particular race consists of FIA specified roll-cage, a six point harness racing seats, fire extinguishing system, 17-inch racing tyres, shed down interiors and race specific suspension.
The Volkswagen Polo R Cup 2013, which began on July 19th, has five rounds spread over five weekends. Two of the five rounds are taking place in Coimbatore while the other two in the Buddha International circuit of Greater Noida. The third round of the season is to be conducted in a street circuit whose venue is yet to be announced.
The Polo Cup is renowned as the ideal platform to enter the professional racing arena.
