Honda Jazz didn’t quite literally take off in the Indian market and just when we thought that it will be history we came across some spy shots of the new Honda Jazz which is expected to borrow some features from its sibling the Honda Sibling. The Spyshots give away the large 16 inch diamond cut alloys, sportier stance, reshaped fenders and also a facelifted rear end.
The Jazz is expected to be launched on this quarter and it will be made available a 1.2Litre petrol engine and a 1.5 Litre diesel engine and both the variants will be mated to a conventional manual gearbox. Honda might later come up with an Automatic version for the petrol variant.
The Jazz will be based on the new Honda City Platform and will be manufactured in the Hondas Rajasthan plant in Tapukara. Honda will ensure localized parts sourcing so as to save on the tax front and also ensure that the spare parts are affordable and readily available. Honda says that it will make sure that the new version of the Jazz is priced competitively unlike the older one which was highly priced and this was the main reason that plagued its sales. The another turn off was that Honda somehow kept the Jazz away from a diesel mill which further ensured its downfall.
The new Jazz will be spruced up with all the creature comforts like the Keyless entry, electronically retractable mirrors, reverse camera, ABS, Alloy, Dual airbags, climate control and a steering mounted control. The Jazz will lock horns with cars like Fiat Punto, Maruti Evo, Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
