Hyundai India, the second largest car maker of the country is all braced up to launch its new compact SUV in the domestic market. The global Hyundai ix25 is going to launch in India christened as the Hyundai Creta. The South Korean car maker has already started the vehicle’s prelaunch activities and has officially revealed its sketches to create buzz. Now, the new spy shots reveal the Creta fully in an un-camouflaged form.
A new set of spy pictures show a Hyundai Creta compact SUV’s test prototype without any veils. This test mule seems to be close to the actual production model, thus no changes or bare minimum changes are expected in the vehicle that is set to launch in the Indian market next month.
Hyundai Creta is a global compact SUV that is based on the ix25 which has been selling since last year in China. As per the spy shots, the Creta looks exactly the same as the ix25 SUV excepting very few subtle details in chrome. These subtle differences in the Creta’s exterior design comprise of a chrome finished radiator grille as against the grey slats of the ix25, and a radiant chrome trim at the rear, above the number plate.
The Hyundai Creta is based on the latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, which was debuted in India in the Hyundai Elite i20 last year. The Creta flaunts a daring face and a muscular yet athletic body structure with a sporty rear design.
The Hyundai Creta compact SUV will be powered by the engine choices of a 1.6 liter VTVT petrol, a 1.4 liter diesel and a 1.6 liter diesel engines. While the petrol motor will be equipped with a 5 speed manual gearbox, both the diesel mills will paired to a 6 speed transmission. Automatic transmission choices are also expected.
The Hyundai Creta is set to launch in India on 21st of July, soon after its upcoming primary rival, the Maruti S-Cross’ launch. The Creta will also fight with the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio, etc.
