Just like we anticipated automobile companies have started rolling out exciting offers or providing updates to their vehicles to rope in more customers in the upcoming festive season. Volkswagen Polo is among the best selling products of the company and is one hell of a hatchback that one can buy in the Indian market. Volkswagen is giving some new features to the Polo ahead of the upcoming festive season.
Volkswagen Polo offers almost everything which one could expect from its hatchback but the area where it lacks is the number of features. The Polo isn’t a cheap hatchback and with its price it lacks some of the features which the Koreans are providing in their cars. The new features that will make into the Polo are cruise control system, cooled glove box and electrically foldable outside rear view mirrors. Well, yes, that’s it.
Well, we hope that these new added features will increase the sales of the Polo in the upcoming festive season. Apart from these features Volkswagen didn’t touch the interiors or the exteriors of the Polo. It will also continue to be available in the number of engine trims like before. It has two petrol engine options – a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated motor which produces a max power of 74 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque and is offered of on the Trendline, Comfortline and Highline variants. The other petrol motor is a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine that chunks out 103 bhp and 175 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7 speed DSG automatic gearbox and is available only in the Polo GT TSI model.
The diesel engine available with the Volkswagen Polo is a 1.5 liter mill that produces 89 bhp of power and 230 Nm of peak torque and gets available with the Trimline, Comfortline and Highline variants. Just like the GT TSI Volkswagen has tweaked the same 1.5 liter diesel engine for the Polo GT TDI variant and it produces 103 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
The new features which Volkswagen will offer in the updated Polo have been seen in the updated Vento which the company launched a few months ago. Anyways, the added features are welcomed but you do have to pay for them. It is expected that the price of the updated Volkswagen Polo will be increased by Rs 5000 to Rs 15,000 depending on the variant.
