As part of the company’s strategy in India, Chevrolet will be launching many new car models in the domestic car market. The Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV will be coming in the month of October 2015, while the Chevrolet Spin MPV will be coming in early 2017.

As per the latest spy pictures, the Chevrolet Spin has also commenced its testing phase in India. The spied Chevrolet Spin MPV’s testing prototype has been spotted with a Gujarat registration plate, while the silhouette of the vehicle clearly under heavy camouflage confirms that the spied vehicle is indeed the Chevrolet Spin.

Chevrolet Spin is a stylish 7-seater MPV, which post its Indian launch will be rivaling the Honda Mobilio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and the Renault Lodgy.

The Spin features a wheelbase of 2,620 mm, 4,360 mm length, 1,953 mm width and height of 1,683 mm. Keeping in line with all the new generation Chevrolet cars, the new Chevrolet Spin also flaunts a bold new split grill with the patent bowtie Chevrolet insignia. The MPV has an overall boxy design like all traditional MPVs, but has a classy and stylish appeal.

The new Chevrolet Spin will feature dual tone upholstery and great storage space, while its a high driving position also provides enhanced visibility. The Spin offers a cargo capacity of 162 liters that can be further increased to 864 liters with the help of its foldable third row seats.

In India, the Chevrolet Spin is expected to be equipped with a 1.2 liter 4 cylinder VVTi petrol motor that has the capability to generate a max power output of around 85 bhp at 5,600 rpm and 115 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. There could also be a larger 1.5 liter petrol mill that delivers a max power of 106 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 148 Nm of top torque at 3,800 rpm, which currently powers the MPV in the car market of Thailand. Both the engines will be mated to the transmission choices of a 5 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic unit.
