Well time does fly. It has been a year ago when Tata launched the Zest in the Indian automobile market. Tata had high hopes for the Zest because it was something new which the company was going to introduce. Now after a year of its launch Tata has come up with a special edition of the Zest. This variant is called the Zest Anniversary Special Edition and the company has incorporated a few extra features to mark the anniversary of the vehicle.
The new special edition of the Zest comes with a striking new Vocal White paint job which is accompanied by ‘Anniversary’ theme body graphics. The slight touches feel nice. Then there is the lower end of the front bumper painted with body color to give an attractive look. The outside rear view mirrors are now finished with piano black. Tata has also given a set of new wheel covers to the Anniversary Special Edition Zest. You will also find ‘Anniversary Edition’ badges on the C pillar.
Apart from the exteriors, Tata has also included minor changes in the interiors as well. Stepping inside the cabin of the Anniversary Special Edition Zest you’d find embroidered front seats, illuminated front scuff plates, powered rear curtain with remote and a bottle holder on floor console. The rest of the package remains unchanged.
Well most of the changes on the Anniversary Special Edition Zest are limited to the aesthetics. It will continue to be available in the same two engine trims – 1.2 liter Revotron Turbo Petrol engine which produces 90 PS of max power and 140 Nm of peak torque and a 1.3 liter Quadrajet diesel mill which churns out the same amount of power as the petrol variant and 200 Nm of peak torque.
It is good to know that Tata has come up with an Anniversary Special Edition of the Zest and is trying to lure in more customers. As the festive season is just around the corner the new variant of the Zest would prove to increase the sales a bit. The new special edition Zest is priced at Rs 5.89 lakh (Ex showroom, Delhi) for the XMS petrol variant whereas the XMS diesel variant is priced at Rs 6.94 lakh (Ex showroom, Delhi). The special edition is definitely expensive than the normal Zest by Rs 15,000/- but Tata claims that all the new features which are thrown into this edition are worth up to Rs 31,000/-. Well, what do you think?
