Renault Planning To Increase The Production Of Kwid

Renault Kwid has been launched in the Indian car market a few months ago and within a short span of time this little car has grasped all the attention Renault hadn’t even thought of. The car crossed over 50,000 bookings within a single month after its launch and the delivery period of the Kwid was nearly 6 months after the booking. Now, after two months of its launch it has crossed 75,000 bookings!

Renault is very pleased with the overwhelming response the Kwid has achieved. Now keeping in mind the advancing bookings of the car, Renault is looking forward to increase its production capacity of its latest model. As of now the company is manufacturing 5000 to 6000 units per month. The new production plan suggests that the company will manufacture around 8000 to 10000 units per month to meet the high demands of the vehicle.

Renault Kwid has become so popular among the masses because of the price tag. As we all know that the Indian car market is a very price sensitive market and Renault has done that just right. With an aggressive price tag the Kwid offers a lot on the table. Hiding under its little hood is a 799cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that has been tuned in a state to churn out 53.2 BHP of max power and a peak torque of 72 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission system. As far as the fuel efficiency goes Renault claims that the Kwid will give a mileage of 25 kpl.

There were also news regarding an AMT variant of the Kwid to be in the works but nothing has been cleared by Renault. Well with the increasing demand of the car we definitely can’t neglect the possibility of an automatic variant in the future. As of now it is the manual transmission which is winning hearts of many across the country.
