Honda has just launched the new CBR 150R in Indonesia and we are still waiting for the Japanese to turn their attention to their Indian buyers. The new CBR 150R looks fantastic in its new avatar and we are damn sure that it will be well received by its Indian fans as well.
The new CBR 150R is launched in Indonesia at IDR 32.5 million which sums up to around INR 1.65 lac. That is quite a lot for a 150cc motorcycle. We mean you can get a KTM at that price which offers a larger displacement and power. But eventually it comes down to one’s own choice and likings. The CBR 150R has already got a good fan following and with the changes that Honda has incorporated in the new model, it will definitely woo customers easily.
Honda has completely changed the way the CBR-150R used to look. The new model is all edgy and sharp. It has got a dual headlight which is an LED unit. Other things like the rear light and the turn indicators are also LEDs. The overall stance of the bike is pretty sporty and definitely very better from the current CBR 150R.
Honda has also worked up on the chassis of this new bike and made it lighter. Less weight is always a plus point. Then the length of the swing arm has also been increased by a few millimeters. Honda has not changed the engine on the new CBR 150R. It will continue to extract power from the same old 150cc single cylinder engine which churns out 17.1 PS of max power and 13.7 Nm of peak torque. We would have loved to see a slight increase in the power figures but it is not something which would act as a deal breaker. But considering the price point and the current competition it would be hard to say that the CBR 150R would survive.
Well we are expecting and hoping that Honda will soon launch the new CBR 150R in India as well. Perhaps, eventually they will but would it be the same bike? We doubt it.
