There are several new cars expected to launch in 2016.

Tata Kite 5

The Tata Kite 5 sedan is the sedan version of the recently launched Tata Tiago. The Kite 5 was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and is a sub-4 meter compact sedan model that will be joining the growing brigade of hatchback turned compact sedan segment of India. It looks promising with its stylish and contemporary exterior design and practical yet smart looking interiors. The upcoming new Kite 5 will be positioned below the Tata Zest compact sedan.

The Tata Kite 5 will be available in both petrol and diesel engine choices powered by a 1.2L Revotron petrol unit offering 83 bhp and 1.05L diesel unit delivering 67 bhp, respectively. A 5 speed manual transmission along with an AMT option is expected. The Kite 5 is expected to launch in this year’s festive season and is likely to have a price range of Rs. 4.5 – 5.5 lakhs.

2016 Honda Accord

Honda Cars India is thought be preparing to bring in the latest Honda Accord. The Accord used to once rule its own segment of luxury sedans and was highly praised for superb riding comfort, butter smooth driving experience and powerful performance. However, dropping sales and the lack of a diesel counterpart made sure that the world acclaimed Accord takes leave from India in 2013. Nevertheless, it is preparing for round two, and is expected to give a tough fight to its market rivals. However, this time around it might just come in its Hybrid version, as the luxury hybrid segment is booming in India.

The new Honda Accord’s hybrid system packs in a 2L petrol mill paired to a lithium-ion battery powered electric motor mated to an electronic CVT automatic transmission. The new Accord is expected to launch in the second half of 2016 with an expected price range of Rs. 28 – 32 lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki ignis orange

After the very popular Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of the highly anticipated Ignis compact SUV. The Ignis is also a sub-4 meter compact crossover model like the Brezza, but it will fight in a different segment of micro-SUVs that was started by the new Mahindra KUV100.

The Ignis is also expected to be a more premium model and could be the next Nexa offering. The Ignis has a very contemporary and eye-catching design. It features a tall stance along with a highly stylized front façade that is marked by headlights that are infused with the radiator grille and U-shaped LED DRLs.

It will get powered by a 1.3L diesel mill, while a petrol offering is also on the cars. Transmission choices are expected to include a 5 speed manual transmission and CVT unit. The Ignis is slated to launch around October with a probable price tag of 4 lakh – 5.5 lakh.
