Seven adventurous biking enthusiasts have been chosen for the Ducati Globetrotters 90th, the round the world biking tour to re-live and celebrate 90 years of biking passion and heritage of Ducati. The seven selected finalists will be covering more than 30,000 kilometres which will be split among them in turns, riding on the Multistrada 1200 Enduro. These seven torchbearers of the Ducati rally will be traveling round the world to have an incredible adventure of their lifetime while also recording the places and people which have been the pillars of Ducati’s history in an online diary that would be followed at www.globetrotter90.ducati.com.
Among the seven chosen bikers for the round the world biking tour Ducati Globetrotters 90th, Vir Nakai is a proud Indian biking enthusiast who will take part in this epic tour. Vir Nakai will start off for his part of the tour on 4th of July, this year, which is exactly 90 years from when Ducati was founded, beginning with the Borgo Panigale factory. Vir Nakai will take part in the World Ducati Week 2016, the coveted gathering place for all the Ducati owners and celebrity riders that will be taking place from 1st to 3rd of July, 2016 at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”. After the 3 day Ducati extravaganza that will also celebrate the brand’s 90th anniversary, Nakai will be escorted by a parade of motorcycles from the Ducati Owners Clubs, from Misano to Bologna to officially kick start this amazing biking adventure.
The seven riders, all of whom have all the required potential and attitude of a globetrotter will take on the seven different legs of the Ducati Globetrotters 90th riding a Multistrada 1200 Enduro. This relay will be held across 3 continents, and the seven participants will be passing a specially designed “torch” from one to another in their respective parts of the journey to figuratively spread the fire of biking passion which forms the core of Ducati, around the world.
The seven Globetrotters were selected very carefully through an online hunt in April in Ducati’s official website, and the registration for selection process was open to all bikers in the world. Finally, only the best among a lot of great riders from around the world have made it to the final list to enjoy an epic adventure. After a lot of scrutiny, 14 semi-finalists were selected who were assembled in the Bootcamp of the DRE Enduro, which is a real Ducati riding academy in Tuscany. The Ducati staff then scrutinized the 14 candidates on their capabilities on the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro to finally select the seven Globetrotters from seven different countries.
Vir Nakai from India along with the 6 other Globetrotters namely – Steve Fraser from Australia, Jessica Leyne from Belgium, Eduardo Generali from Brazil, Samuel Bendall from USA and Hugo Wilson from UK, will be embarking on the greatest biking adventure of their lives in the Ducati Globetrotters 90th.
