Tata Tiago Aktiv
The new Tata Tiago compact hatchback model has got the long awaited good success for a new model for Tata Motors. Tata Motors is overwhelmed by the market response that the Tiago received, and this encouraged the Indian auto major to start preparing a crossover version of the Tiago. The Tiago based compact crossover is likely to be named as the Tiago Aktiv, and it is expected to be the cheapest model in its own segment. The Tiago Aktiv is likely to share the 1.2L Revotron petrol and the 1.0L Revotorq diesel engines with the Tiago. The petrol mill offers 83.8 bhp and 114 Nm, and the diesel motor generates 69 bhp and 140 Nm. Both the mills are paired to a 5 speed manual transmission. The Aktiv will definitely flaunt beefier looks by incorporating exterior features like black plastic body cladding, rear skid plate and new larger alloy wheels.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis
The Ignis has been one of the most highly awaited new launches after the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Like the Brezza, the Ignis will also be a sub-4 meter compact SUV, but more premium in quality. It will be exclusively sold through Nexa premium showrooms and will hit the Indian market this festive season. The Ignis will be Maruti Suzuki’s answer to the Mahindra KUV100 and will likely pack in a 1.2L VTVT petrol mill and a 1.3L MultiJet diesel motor mated to a 5 speed manual and CVT gearbox options. The Ignis is also speculated to get an all-wheel drive option. The mini SUV will come with superb styling and a long list of features.
Nissan X-Trail is a hybrid crossover model and was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The India-bound X-Trail will come with a petrol-hybrid powertrain which will make use of a 2.0L MR20 DD petrol mill paired to an electric motor to generate a combined power output of 179 bhp. An Xtronic CVT gearbox will do the transmission. The X-Trail is expected to come to India tagged in the range of Rs. 30 to Rs. 40 lakhs.
Maruti Suzuki S-Cross facelift
The S-Cross premium cross is also expected to come in its facelift version in India soon. The refreshed S-Cross is likely to offers some good exterior and interior changes including new features such as new instrument cluster dials along with MID, new interior color combinations, new upholstery for seats with contrast stitching. No mechanical changes are expected in the refreshed S-Cross in India, and it would continue getting powered by the same 1.3L and the 1.6L diesel mills.
