South Korean auto giant, Hyundai Motor has started testing the new updated Hyundai Grand i10. This will be the popular hatchback’s mid-life facelift as the ongoing model is just about to celebrate its third anniversary in the Indian market. The testing Grand i10 prototype has been caught by the shutterbugs and the spy pics have gone viral on the internet, which show the car with its front face, doors as well as hatch covered with veils. The car is also seen riding on newly designed alloy wheels. At this point, it can be safely said that a similar refreshed model for the Grand i10 based compact sedan Xcent is also on the way.
Only the camouflaged exterior of the car got snapped and by the placement of the veils we can safely say that the upcoming refreshed Hyundai Grand i10 is going to come with cosmetic changes primarily on its front face and at the rear, while it might also get some mild alterations on its side profile, but we are not expecting anything other than the new alloy wheels. The interior of the car did not get spied as yet, so there’s no information on the kind of changes that it might have received. Nevertheless, some mild improvements along with new upholstery are expected, while there might be a few equipment additions as well, which will definitely be a welcome change.
Hyundai Grand i10 Engine:
When it comes to the under the hood mechanical bits, then the new Grand i10 facelift is not expected to get any changes whatsoever and is likely to get powered by the same 1.2 liter 4 cylinder petrol mill and a 1.1 liter 3 cylinder diesel motor that will be carried over from the outgoing model.
Hyundai Motor India, the country’s second largest car maker launched the new generation i10 compact hatchback model in the domestic car market of India named as the Hyundai Grand i10 back in the month of September 2013. Thus, the Grand i10 will complete three years in the car market of India next month.
The Grand i10 was an instant success and quickly became one of the fastest selling cars in India. It also won many accolades including the coveted car of the year award in 2014. The Hyundai Grand i10 has been highly praised and popular with the buyers for its smart all new styling, better space and good features list. The car is sold in India alongside its predecessor i10 model, while it actually replaced the i10 in the global markets and that’s why the ‘Grand’ prefix. The Grand i10 is also of course a grander version of the previous i10 owing to the array of changes, and actually seems like an entire new car.
Post its launch in India, the new refreshed Grand i10 will be fighting against the Ford Figo, Fiat Punto Evo and its arch rival Maruti Suzuki Swift. The Grand i10 which usually comes after the Maruti Swift in the 10 top selling car’s list in India, has been recently managing to outsell the Swift in the few past months, although the Swift again preceded the Grand i10 last month.
