Renault Kwid powered by 1.0 liter motor launched

French car maker Renault received humongous response for its SUV-like small hatchback Kwid in the Indian market. Encouraged by the superb success of the car, Renault India has now launched the Renault Kwid powered by a 1.0 liter petrol engine in the domestic car market today with a starting price tag of Rs. 3.82 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The Renault Kwid 1L engine model has been a highly awaited launch in India and ending the anticipations, the French car maker has finally launched the Kwid empowered with a 1.0L SCe motor. The just launched Renault Kwid version packs in a 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder, aluminium DOHC petrol mill that is capable of churning out a max power output of 65 hp along with a top torque of 95 Nm. The engine gets coupled with a 5 speed manual transmission to transfer the generated power to the car’s front wheels. Renault India is also expected to bring in the Automated Manual Transmission gearbox option by the end of this year.

The 1.0 liter petrol engine of the new Renault Kwid version offers the fuel efficiency of 23 km per liter, which is identical to the fuel economy figure offered by the 800 cc engine powered Kwid version. Thus, the new Renault Kwid 1L engine owners have nothing to lose in terms of mileage while also getting to enjoy better powerful drive experience. The new 1.0 liter SCe mill has been developed inspired by a racing technology that offered about 95 hp of power to weight ratio for great agility and enhanced performance.

The Renault Kwid is a contender in the entry level hatchback segment in the domestic car market of India. The Kwid thus, fights against some very well established models in the segment such as the popular Hyundai Eon and India’s all-time top selling car the Maruti Suzuki Alto. However, the Renault Kwid has been able to win over the Indian car buyers with its enticing design, SUV stance, great interior space and superb features list. In terms of dimensions, the SUV-like small hatchback is longer than the Alto K10 and Eon. The Kwid measures 3679 mm long, 1579 mm wide, 1478 mm tall and the car sits on a wheelbase measuring 2422 mm. The entry level hatchback has a ground clearance of 180 mm. It also offers a more spacious interiors and a great 300 liter of boot space.

The just launched new Renault Kwid 1.0 L version also flaunts some new exterior features like dual tone electrically adjustable wing mirrors, side body cladding and SCe logo. On the inside, the car offers interesting features such as a stylish dual tone dashboard design, all digital instrument cluster and a large 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system along with media NAV, Navigation, Bluetooth and Aux-in connectivity.

In terms of safety measures, the Kwid comes braced with features including dual front airbags, ABS, keyless entry and centre locking system among others.

The new Renault Kwid 1.0 liter is available in two trim models – RXT priced at Rs. 3,82,776 and RXT(O) that is tagged at Rs 3,95,776.
