Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT model expected to launch soon

The new Maruti Vitara Brezza has been an outstanding success in India since its launch earlier this year. As the demands for the sub-4 meter compact SUV keeps skyrocketing making the company struggle to manufacturer enough of the vehicle, constant demands for the AMT and petrol models of the car are also increasing. Now, as per the latest reports, India’s top car brand, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the AMT version of its massively popular Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV. The Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT model is expected to launch pretty soon in India.

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AMT model was unveiled at the recently concluded 2016 Indonesia Auto Show. The Brezza AMT model that was displayed at the Indonesian auto event was in its original diesel version and manufactured in India. When asked, Suzuki officials during the event said that it is most unlikely for the car to launch in the car market of Indonesia, as diesel quality and demands for diesel cars in that country are very poor. However, the model is certainly expected to launch in the Indian car market, given the high popularity of both the Vitara Brezza and the AMT models.

Maruti Suzuki being the leading car manufacturer of the country first introduced the AMT or automated manual transmission gearbox in its Celerio compact hatchback in India. Ever since the huge popularity of the AMT gearbox has encouraged Maruti to introduce the AMT version of several cars in its lineup. Thus, the expectation for an AMT model of the Vitara Brezza is very justified. However, the company has not yet confirmed anything about the launch of the Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT version.

Nevertheless, the buzz around the imminent launch of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AMT is far from baseless, as such a model has been manufactured in India and has been already displayed in Indonesia there shouldn’t be any reason for Maruti not to launch the car in India. As per the speculations, the Brezza AMT launch will happen within this year.

Reports have been also saying that the Indo-Japanese car major is planning to manufacture its own AMT system, which would bring down the Maruti AMT models’ cost. However, the company denied these speculations by saying it is happy with the Italian parts supplier Magneti Marelli for the AMT kits and has no plans to change it.

The new Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT is not expected to get any other mechanical. It will be equipped with the same Fiat sourced 1.3L DDiS diesel mill coupled to a 5 speed manual transmission. The engine generates 89 bhp of max power and peak torque of 200 Nm. The AMT system is not likely to make any notable effect on the power figures.

The upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT is also not likely to get any design changes and its current feature list is also expected to remain the same. So, expect the AMT model to flaunt the same powerful projector headlights, LED guide lights, floating roof design, plastic underbody cladding, faux skid plates, roof rails, etc; while on the inside features such as touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Smart Connect, piano black centre console, cooled glove box, etc would continue.
