After a lot of speculations and contradictory reports, now it is finally confirmed that the launch of the much awaited Maruti Suzuki Ignis’ is going to happen as per the original schedule that is around Diwali this year. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis mini crossover has been a hugely awaited new launch from India’s largest car maker.
The Ignis was first debuted in India at the 2016 Auto Expo back in the month of February in its concept form. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis is going to come to India as a premium vehicle and will be sold exclusively through the company’s premium showroom network – Nexa. Some reports had said that the launch of the Ignis has been delayed to early 2017 as Maruti has a large backlog of orders for the Maruti Vitara Brezza sub-compact SUV and the Maruti Baleno premium hatchback. However, other reports said that the Ignis is on track of its original launch date, and the company confirmation for the same came recently. This means that the Maruti Suzuki Ignis might hit the car market of India sometime in October this year.
The car market of India has been abuzz with various information regarding the new upcoming Maruti Suzuki Ignis’s design language, features and powertrain options. To start with the Ignis will come with a smart, stylish and futuristic design to allure the buyers that are interested in the highly popular mini SUVs. The transmission duty in the upcoming Ignis is likely to be carried out by a 5 speed manual gearbox, while reports also say that an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) or a more premium CVT gearbox option would also come as an option in both the petrol and diesel models. Nevertheless, none of these have yet been confirmed.
