The new 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport was recently caught testing on the road, and the first spy pictures of the same have been splashed on the internet. The next generation Suzuki Swift will be making its world premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in the month of March next year.
The exterior design of the new upcoming 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport was earlier spied this year, which revealed that the new-gen car model will be flaunting a more sporty and aggressive design language with the help of styling elements such as an upright and stylized front fascia with a wide hexagonal front grille, larger air intakes, smaller but stylish headlights along with LED DRLs and large stylish alloy wheels. The car’s rear design also flaunts a sporty styling that is complete with a roof spoiler, a floating roof design, dual exhaust pipes and attractive tail lights.
The next generation 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will be ditching the older 1.6 N/A 4 cylinder motor that powers the ongoing model of the Swift Sport. The next-gen model will be getting equipped with the newly developed K14C-DITC 1.4 liter BoosterJet turbocharged 4 cylinder petrol mill. This powerful and compact new petrol mill is sourced from the Suzuk Vitara S. Under the hood of the Vitara S the engine generates a max power of 103 kW or 138.07 hp along with a top torque of 220 Nm. It is thought that similar to the existing model, the next generation 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport might also be equipped with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox to transmit the generated power from the engine to the cars two or all four wheels, as the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will also be offered in an option that will be empowered by Suzuki’s ALLGRIP AWD system.
The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport is expected to come with a lot of improvements in terms of features and interior quality as well, apart from the all new design language and new powertrain in order to have a true all new appeal for the customers.
The current generation model of the Suzuki Swift Sport will be discontinued by the Japanese car maker later this year in order to make way for the upcoming next generation 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport model, which is scheduled to be getting launched sometime by the mid-2017 or immediately after its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
As for the Indian car market, the Japanese auto maker’s Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki never brought in the Swift Sport in the car market of India despite the Swift hatchback and the Swift based Swift Dzire compact sedan’s immense popularity in this country. Now, as the rise of the sporty cars is taking place in the car market of India in a big way, it is being hoped that Maruti Suzuki will also consider finally bringing in the next generation 2017 Swift Sport to India, once it launches in the global car markets.
