Audi India is getting all braced up to bring in the new generation model of the Audi A4 in the domestic car market. The German luxury car giant will launch the all new Audi A4 premium sedan model in India on 8th of September, 2016. The new-gen A4 saloon is based on the company’s new MLB Evo platform that makes the car as much as 95kg lighter than its predecessor. Initially the all new Audi A4 will come powered by a 1.4L petrol mill, while a larger and more powerful 2.0L diesel engine choice will also be available at a later date.
Audi first debuted the new generation A4 at the 2016 Auto Expo in the month of February. Post its Indian launch in the next month, the entry-level luxury sedan in its all new avatar is all set to lock its horns with Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar XE, BMW 3-series. The new-gen Audi A4 comes with a lot of improvement and updates. The car comes with a fully revamped exterior design, while the enhanced driving dynamics and lot of reduced weight should also offer a greatly improved ride and handling. In terms of looks, the all new Audi A4 comes with a sporty styling and a bold front face which flaunts newly designed 3D-hexagonal front radiator grille. However, on the whole the luxury sedan retains the A4’s silhouette. The new A4 is also bigger than before with larger dimensions.
The all new Audi A4 also comes with refreshed cabin which now boasts of including the company’s ‘Virtual Cockpit’ technology. The Virtual Cockpit replaces the conventional instrument cluster of the previous model. Thus, the new A4 owners will get to enjoy the luxurious and classy interiors that come with wooden, metal, leather trimmings along with two displays, one of which consists of the information system, while the other which comes as a part of the Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster. The massive 12.3 inch screen even offers navigation alongside all the regular details that come on the dashboard.
As mentioned above, initially the all new Audi A4 will launch in India equipped with a 1.4 liter TFSI petrol mill that is good to deliver 150 PS of max power and 250 Nm of top torque. This refined petrol engine is paired to a sophisticated 7 speed S-tronic transmission. Audi India claims a fuel efficiency of 17.84 km per liter on the all new A4 that makes it 2.2 km per liter more frugal than the previous model. While there is yet no official confirmation from Audi India sources say that a 2.0 liter diesel avatar of the new-gen A4 will also be joining the line-up soon towards the end of this year. This diesel counterpart of the all new Audi A4 will offer a max power output of 174 PS and 380 Nm of top torque and will be coupled with the same 7 speed automatic transmission.
The all new Audi A4 is likely to be priced in the rage of around Rs. 35 lakhs.
