2017 Skoda Kodiaq’s interiors revealed; India launch next year

Czech car maker, Skoda Auto has revealed the official images of the interiors of the new 2017 Skoda Kodiaq just prior to its world premiere. The 2017 Skoda Kodiaq premium SUV will be launched in the global car markets towards the end of 2016, while it is expected arrive in the car market of India sometime next year. The new Kodiaq SUV will be based on the striking VisionS concept SUV model that was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The 2017 Skoda Kodiaq will be available for sale in 5 as well as 7-seater configuration. As per the revealed images, the Skoda Kodiaq will be loaded with the company’s new Connect infotainment system which helps the users to connect a smart phone and get vehicle information right on the smartphone. The SUV’s dashboard will be sharing its design with the other existing Skoda cars, but has been made to look more upmarket along with classy silver accents and faux leather upholstery for the seats with grey stitching.

The 2017 Skoda Kodiaq’s cabin looks plush and spacious and is expected to offer a good amount of boot space as well with its third-row folded up. Volkswagen’s MQB platform underpins the Skoda Kodiaq and the SUV will be placed above the Skoda Yeti.

The 2017 Skoda Kodiaq is expected to launch in India in the second half of 2017. The premium SUV model is expected to get equipped with the existing 1.8 liter TSI petrol mill and a 2.0 liter TDI diesel motor along with and an all wheel drive system option. The engines will be mated to a 6 speed manual and a 7 speed DSG transmission option. In the international markets, the Kodiaq will be offered in a hybrid version as well, but it is not expected to come to India anytime soon.

The upcoming new 2017 Skoda Kodiaq SUV in India is likely to be assembled at Volkswagen’s Chakan manufacturing plant. The Kodiaq is likely to be tagged in the price range of Rs. 30 to Rs. 35 lakh and will be pitched against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner.
