After revealing its looks and creating a buzz with official posters well ahead of its unveiling, the all new Hyundai Verna has finally made its world premiere (2nd September) at the 2016 Chengdu Motor Show in China. The new generation 2017 Hyundai Verna will be offered for sale first in the car market of China, followed which it will be launched in the other car markets including India next year.
When dimensions are concerned, the all new Hyundai Verna measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,728 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height. The premium sedan rides on a wheelbase that measures 2,600 mm. The car flaunts an all new styling for its exterior based on the South Korean car major’s latest design philosophy version that is called Fluidic Sculpture 2.0. Thus the new 2017 Verna sedan has become sharper and more matured in its visual appeal as compared against its predecessor. The all new Hyundai Verna flaunts a sharper front façade owing to its new edgier styling elements such as a big hexagon shaped front radiator grille in chrome finish, stylish and sleek headlamps with powerful projector lamps, LED Daytime Running Lights, sculpted bumpers which house large angular fog lights. The car also gets new stylish alloy wheels, attractive LED tail lights, restyled C-pillar and a new spoiler.
During the world premiere of the all new Hyundai Verna sedan at the 2016 Chengdu Motor Show, the South Korean car major has also revealed the car’s interiors. The all new Hyundai Verna comes with fully revamped interiors which look more stylish and premium than the previous generation model. The new generation sedan model gets its new cabin design which looks similar to that of the all new Hyundai Elantra as it shares some design cues with its larger cousin. The revealed China specific model of the new Verna flaunts a sophisticated all black interior scheme that is accentuated with silver trims around the car’s center console as well as the HVAC vents. The new-gen Verna is going to offer a number of premium features on the inside which include a large 8 inch touchscreen AVN system, automatic climate control, and pushbutton start/stop system among many more.
The all new 2017 Hyundai Verna for the Chinese car market will come powered by a choice of a 1.4 liter and a 1.6 liter petrol mill. While the 1.4L mill has the capability to pump out a max power of 100 hp, the slightly larger 1.6L unit is good to generate a peak power of 123 hp. Both the petrol engines will be mated to a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic transmission gearbox option.
As for the Indian car market, the just unveiled all new Hyundai Verna premium sedan will launch in 2017 equipped with 1.4 liter and 1.6 liter petrol as well as diesel motor choices. The new avatar of the Verna is certainly expected to give a boost to the cars sales and popularity in India.
