The Hyundai Creta compact SUV has been a massive success in the Indian car market ever since its launch in July last year. The Creta is the new game changer for the Korean auto major and a hot-selling model. Now, Hyundai Motor is working on a new facelift model of the Creta in order to keep its appeal fresh, and the company has even gone ahead teasing it. The upcoming new refreshed Hyundai Creta has been recently teased again by the company’s Brazilian wing. The recently released teaser image of the upcoming refreshed Hyundai Creta shows the SUV covered in some thick black veils. The facelift model’s previous teaser images showed the vehicle in completely dark backgrounds flaunting only its bright and stylish lights and the adjacent styling elements.
As per the South Korean auto giant’s social media post, the first models of the new refreshed Hyundai Creta will be gifted to the Rio Olympic sailing champions from Brazil, namely Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze.
As far as the new Hyundai Creta facelift is concerned, it is expected to be a mild refresh that will involve subtle cosmetic changes and may be some added features. While the recently released teaser image does not disclose any details whatsoever owing to its heavy masks, going by the previous images it can be safely said that the SUV’s facelift model will flaunt some mild, but nice styling updates. The refreshed Creta is expected to be flaunting a new more aggressively styled wider radiator grille, probably based on the company’s latest Cascading design. The refreshed Hyundai Creta is also likely to get horizontal fog lamps, restyled bumpers, refreshed tail light design and a thick chrome strip connecting the tail light consoles. While the facelift Creta is certainly hitting the Brazilian car market very soon, the model is also likely to launch in the Indian car market. However, whether the SUV will get the same updates in India or not is not really clear at the moment.
The new refreshed Hyundai Creta will first launch in the car market of Brazil, early next year, while its Indian launch is expected to follow by around mid-2017 which will be a good time for the model to get a refresh as it will be around two years old in the Indian market. Brazilian spec Creta will be manufactured at Hyundai manufacturing facility in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo. For the car market of Brazil, the model will come powered by a 1.6 liter CVVT flex-fuel motor that is good to generate 128 bhpof power and 162 Nm of torque. The engine might be coupled with a 6 speed manual and a 6 speed automatic transmission choice.
On the other hand, the India-spec refreshed Hyundai Creta model will continue with the same engine range comprising of the 1.6L Gamma Dual VTVT petrol, 1.6L U2 CRDi VGT diesel and 1.4L U2 CRDi diesel engines. The mills get paired with a standard 6 speed manual transmission; while a 6 speed automatic transmission option is offered in both 1.6L powered petrol and diesel versions.
